My first commission, when I was twenty, was to capture the spirit of a little Yorkshire terrier for a colleague of mine. In the years since, I have enjoyed drawing and painting dozens of animals and people. I was thrilled a few years ago when my colored pencil drawing, “Young Tusk” won “best in show” because this drawing of a juvenile elephant, inspired while in Tanzania, had been a gift to my daughter Ashley.
